Why you should never transfer your photos via social media

Beginners mistakes to avoid when transferring your photos

You just started photography and you have been taking high quality photos of your friends and family that you would like to share with them.  You send those photos using your WhatasApp inbox but the other person complained that the photos were blurry when in the contrary they appeared perfectly clear on your camera and your computer. Well here is the reason why.

Messenger modify the pixelation of  your photos

Messenger might be an excellent tool to connect with your friends and family and engage in conversation, But it is not as effective for sending your photos or pictures inbox.  Especially when they were taken with a camera. In fact, Messenger modify the quality of your photos to such an extent that they can become blurry or appear as if they were pixelated.

WhatsApp Is not better either

If you’ve ever tried posting a photo from WhatsApp to Facebook then you’ll know that the result will not be as clean and neat as the original photo. In the  contrary, they often appear blurry  as if you did not use the right autofocus.

Instagram is not a good Idea

Although Instagram is the most popular social media for photos, it is not  a better tool for transferring your photos. In fact, this plateform can also modify the quality of your photos. Therefore making the depth of field  too shallow. Furthermore, the landscape might appear too grainy. This will make the pictures unpleasant and will deeply decrease their quality.

Neither is Twitter

You recently took photos of  your friend who you happen to be following on Twitter. You want to send them the pictures using your Twitter account since you have been talking with this person on this plateform. Once again, social media is an excellent tool for sharing information but it is not an  effective transfer tool, especially if your friend is planning to use the photos.

Which plateforms to use to transfer your photos

Use WeTransfer

WeTransfer is an internet-based computer file transfer service. The company was founded in Amsterdam by Bas Beerens and Nalden. The core service is free. It is a good way to share your work using this transfer service as it conserves the quality of your file.

Google drive is another free option

You might be using Google drive for different purposes than transferring your file, but you could use it to transfer your photos and short videos. It does not work as better as WeTransfer, but it is good for saving the quality, size and pixelation of your photos.

Dropbox is the main plateform for photo transfer

Dropbox is the most used platform worldwide for photo transfers. Companies use it as a database for their photos and videos. Althought it is not free
