Photography for me is not looking, it's feeling. If you can't feel what you are looking at, then you are never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures. Don McCullin
Depending on the type of photos you want to take (portrait, candid photography or photo art) , light will always play a key role in your setting. For portrait photos, you want to have as much light as possible as the goal here is to immortalize the person’s facial features. white, bright light is usually more efficient for this purpose. You might want to use the flash on your camera as well as lighting umbrellas. For candid photography, The goal is to capture the moment, the ambiance and the emotions. Rather than focusing on facial features. Your lighting has to focus on the specific features you wish to highlight (The nose, the lips, the smile, the freckles etc.). You have to direct the camera lens on the attribute you wish to showcase. Candid photographs look better when they are taken in an outdoor setting. The natural light helps enhancing the emotions and ambiance in the environment.Photo art in the contrary are more creative and out of the ordinary therefore, lighting is important but you have to play with different tools in order to create a more artistic result.
In order to capture the essence of the landscape. You have to feel a connection with your environment. Once again, your photos will be great if you take them before sunset or during the sunrise because there are more colors. The leaves, the sky and even the building get a different color during the sunset. The first picture was taken at 12:30 pm and the picture on the second was taken at 4:45 pm. We can notice a difference in brightness and accuracy due to the suns light. With sunset, there is endless opportunity to take nice shots of your environment with natural light although some features will appear dark. I like to take pictures during sunset because it offers more advantages in terms of settings and light. It gives you the possibility to play with the light and discover new spots. It is more interesting when you take pictures near water because you can capture more colors.
